Variable Gaussian – Linear Mask
Variable Gaussian filters allow you to control blur power within the frame. You can isolate blur to a specific side or region—ideal for simulating depth of field or applying selective focus to areas like the sky or foreground.

Parameters: | |
Size | Controls overall blur intensity. Range: 0.0–4.0. Higher values increase blur with reduced quality. |
Area | Adjusts soft area size. 0.0 is no blur, 1.0 covers the full image. |
Side | Sets blur direction using angle values: 0.0 = left, 0.25 = top, 0.5 = right, 0.75 = bottom. |
Distribution | Soften the blur boundary—higher values give smoother transitions. |

Depth of Field simulation: Blur the near plane (bottom of image) while keeping distant areas sharp.
